Bosco, CD, CGC (? - April 12, 1996)
Bosco was a rescue chow chow and my first obedience dog. Obedience turned him into a wonderful pet. He earned a CD and also got his Canine Good Citizen certificate from the AKC. He started learning Open, which involves jumping and retrieving. He was progressing well, but had to stop jumping due to hip dysplasia. He retired from obedience and enjoyed his life as "just a pet."
I was able to take Bosco to the Chow Chow Club national specialty obedience trial in Visalia, CA, in 1994. He was the only dog entered in Veterans. There were six dogs in Novice and one in Graduate Novice. I'm proud to say he was the only the dog to qualify that day and won the High Scoring in Non Regular Classes obedience rosette.
Train your chow, and you'll see his temperament and personality improve dramatically!
The Chow Chow Club is the AKC parent club for chow chows.
U-CD Simon, CD, CGC (? - February 1, 1998)
Simon was a rescue miniature poodle. I'm very proud of all his accomplishments, because they weren't easy for him. I don't know his background, but he came to me very shy and fearful. Obedience helped him become happier and more self-confident.
